Samsung Confirms to Improve SOS Function from Galaxy Watch 6

Galaxy Watch 6 will soon get its official launch date along with the upcoming foldable phones. From the various sources, we know what we can expect from the next Samsung watches. Now for the first time, an official member has revealed one key feature that we can see on Galaxy Watch 6. It has been revealed by Samsung Community Manager for Galaxy Watch in South Korea. He reveals from the next watch, there will be an additional feature in the Emergency SOS function.

In the major change, the watch will send the recent accurate location to emergency contacts. It means for some reason if the user changes his/her location, then the saved emergency contact will get a notification about the changed location, so there won’t be any trouble in finding the person.

As before, the watch will make calls to saved numbers and also send a message with the current location. With the new addition, it makes it easy to get all the needy help in time. It is a good move, because in remote areas, for valid reasons there is a chance users have to change the place.

The official member said the change will take place in the One UI 5 Watch beta version, and it will also come to Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 5 series. Here is the official answer from the community manager.

Galaxy Watch 6 SOS Function

The emergency SOS operation has been changed starting with the Watch 6 model.
As you mentioned, in the past, calls and text messages with location information were sent to emergency contacts, but
emergency calls are provided first, and then text messages with location information are sent.

If the user’s location is changed, additional text messages are sent to the changed location, and
a delay count is provided in consideration of the case where text messages are not sent.

These changes from Watch 6 have also been applied to Watch 4 and Watch 5 Beta.
