It is the second year Samsung has continued its beta testing program for Wear OS smartwatches. Last year had some tremendous features, and we will also see some new features this year too. Samsung has officially opened a beta testing program for the smartwatches, but some users are still confused about how to install it. Don’t worry guys, this guide will help you to join and download the One UI 5 Watch beta on your watch. There are some requirements that you need to fulfill to get the newest beta version.
Eligibility:
Galaxy Watch requirements:
It is based on Wear OS 4.0 version, so Tizen watches will not support it. If you have Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic, Watch 5, or Watch 5 Pro, then you are eligible for the beta testing program.
Region Requirements:
Sadly, the beta program is not live in all the countries. Unlike the Galaxy phone beta program where there are seven countries, the Galaxy Watch beta program is only running in two countries
If you are living in the US or South Korea, then you can apply for it. The company might open it for other regions, but currently, there is no such news.
How to Apply:
Now comes the point of how to join the program in your country. To apply, open the Samsung Members app on your Galaxy smartphone, and look at the heading banners. If the beta is live in your region, then the banner ‘One UI Watch beta’ will display here.
Now open the banner, and read all the terms and warnings. You have to sign up for the program and after successful signing, you will get fresh firmware on your device. Head to the Galaxy Wearable app to install One UI 5 Watch beta firmware, and start using it.
It is the first beta version, so there might be some minor or major issues that can cause app crashes, system slowness, and battery drainage, so use it at your own risk.
In the first beta version, Samsung focused on major health functions. You can see the list of all the changes in the above screenshot. It will take another month to finish the beta testing to receive stable Wear OS 4 software. We could see the final version with the next Galaxy Watch 6 & Watch 6 Classic.
