Payment App Google Wallet Launched for Android & Wear OS

As announced back in I/O 2022 event in May, Google is now rolling out Google Wallet app for Android & Wear OS. We all know it will come to Android devices later this year, but the company surprises all of us by launching it for Wear OS. Along with Android phone users, now Wear OS users can use it. It will make it easy for users to pay with their smartphones and smartwatches. To be frank, it is a new version of the Google Pay app.

The previous Google Pay was originally launched to make contactless payments. It is limited in features, so Google merged it into the new Wallet app. The new app will allow users to store their credit cards, debit cards, boarding passes, and many more.

The official blog mentions users can use Wallet to make fast and secure payments everywhere Google Pay is accepted. You can buy movie tickets, and flight tickets, and also pay at various malls in supported countries.

It has every feature but still needs to add Digital car keys, student IDs, driver licenses, and UWB support. These features are available in Samsung Wallet, so it would be better if Google adds them in the upcoming app update.

Meanwhile, some users on Wear OS reported that they are getting some difficulties with the app. The users say double-clicking on the physical button is not working while accessing the app. Google promised to bring more features later this year.
