To be clear, we now have Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 2 in the market, and next would be Gen 3 chipset. The next Gen 3 will be packed on the Galaxy S24 series and 20% faster than Gen 2. Now, we have rumors about Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. The rumors are talking about Gen 4, and claim it might be 40% faster than the Gen 3 chipset.
The rumors on Weibo say Gen 4 will sport 2 Nuvia Phoenix I cores and 6 Phoenix M cores. In numbers that will result in 2,070 Geekbench scores in single-core and 9,100 in multi-core. Further, the source mentions Gen 4 will beat Apple’s A17 & A18 Bionic, but that will be early to brag.
In recent leaks, rumors have leaked information and detailed scores of the upcoming Gen 3 chipset. The first batch of smartphones with this chip will come out in early 2024, and after that in early 2025, we could see Gen 4-powered devices, probably the Galaxy S25 series.
