Why ECG & BP Functions Are Missing on Galaxy Watch 4?

With the Galaxy Watch 4 and its rugged variant, Samsung has packed a couple of essential features. The launching of the Wear OS 3 version is one of the main factors in the success in selling point, but there are a few others too. The ECG or Electrocardiogram and BP or Blood Pressure features are also the main features that every user have wanted on their smartwatch. Both features were introduced on Galaxy Watch Active 2 but later activated after the launch of Galaxy Watch 3. Since the first day, it is also the part of the current generation Galaxy Watch 4.

Now, the question is when Samsung has announced these functions for Galaxy Watch 3 & Watch 4, then why they are missing on your smartwatch? It is a valid question, and you may have also purchased these watches, especially for ECG & BP functions. It is not all Samsung’s fault as they have successfully launched these features. The main reason behind missing these is because of your government. To use the service, Samsung needs to go through specific authorities to get the clearance or certificate.

It is also a fault of Samsung as it is not clearing necessary documents and other tests to launch these health features in many countries. Some countries are not allowing them because these are very critical to measure and one single mistake could make users panic. There could be a chance some users might take the wrong medicine or unnecessary treatments based on the results. It is the reason some countries still have to pass the Health Monitor app. Even Apple & Fitbit are in line to enter many markets.
